Triride Close-up
Sea Otter 2012 – Fox CTD
How it works
1/3
CTD stands for Trail Climb Descend, or climb, path and descent. The new management of Fox suspension is adjustable to three positions. In the first (Climb) the shock or fork are set to encourage maximum performance climbing. Trail located in the suspensions only work on small excursions. In the third position (Descend) suspensions are free to work. The CTD is also activated by the handlebar.
CTD and ProPedal
2/3
The CTD makes it very easy to adjust suspension. Probably one can not act with the same level of customization that it had on the ProPedal, but Fox says that the new interface will make it easier for most users to extract maximum performance from the shock and the forks of the American brand. The CTD will be available across the range 2013 of up to 160mm travel forks and Fox Float shock on, two of these models will also have the remote control. The new system will also be available on the telescopic seatpost Fox Doss.
New technology and new forks
3/3
Suspension Fox presents a new range of forks for 2013. In all probability, the expectation is for more 29 inches with 160mm of travel and 34mm stanchions. For 29er models Factory, remember that to be the top of the range, will be present as for Float 29 FIT CTD system, Only tapered steerer, dropouts for 15mm thru axle and treatment stems Kashima. Just 34mm stems allow you to have a good 20% more rigidity than forks 32 destined for the same range of use. Definitely a higher weight but less than 36mm while ensuring performance and torsional stiffness compared to the forks of larger diameter.
