Bernard Kerr English is a very talented rider and safe big growth in the international disciplines of gravity. Bernard began racing mountain bikes almost ten years ago led by his cousin Joe that approaches the world of fat tires. Still very young, Bernard can boast a track record, major. Among the most important successes of course the title of European champion junior downhill and three English league titles in the downhill and 4x. Bernard runs for Team Pivot UK riding a Phoenix DH, but in addition to downhill does not disdain the discipline as a dirt jump where, in England, having fun with friends Sam Reynolds, Ollie Wilkins and many other. We contacted Bernard in California, where he is preparing for winter, she emerged out of this interview.

Ciao Bernard, How are you? Are you having fun in California or have their days fully engaged by the pre-season training?
Hello boys, is all right! In winter it is certainly easier to spend the evening having fun with friends but never abandon training. Of course there are the pressures of the World Cup but I do miss a few down with my Phoenix. In England, this winter, I spent a lot of time doing dirt jump, inece hours I started training with programs focused on the downhill and racing bikes.
What are your goals for next season?
Sure to be among the top 20 cup, but I will be trying to break the barrier of the first ten!
The Enduro is a discipline that has grown in recent years, What do you think of this specialty? Like?
It has grown very. This is because it fails to attract many people, with only one bike that can do both xc dh. Do a little’ Enduro for fun riding my Pivot 5.7 and most likely will try to make some race.
Be charged before a race is very important. What do you think when the traffic light turns green at the starting gate?
My approach to racing is very relaxed, before shooting the lights I try to stay focused and I think just having fun.
What was the worst moment in your career?
Uhmm, this is a good question. I think the worst I remember was the world championship in Canberra 2009. I've been sick all week, I ran bad and finished fifth in the final. If I were in good shape I would have done far better. I won everything that year and when I had to give up was not one hundred percent.
And the best moment instead?
I could tell when I won the European Championships dh, although unfortunately Danny Hart was not present at the race. However, once I beat Danny at the national championships, although he was ranked second with a very small gap.
Let's talk about music. Is there any song that plays before turning in bike?
None in particular, But like everything that has a fast pace, and soon a nice beat that makes me feel like a superhero.
When and how did you start to run?
Before the bike I started racing in motocross, but when I 11 year my cousin made me feel a downhill bike, From that day I have not stopped!

In addition to mountain biking what are your favorite sports?
The first of motocross, but I'm a lover of golf and winter I like ice skating.
What is your favorite cup path? And who but the most handsome of you ever shot?
Among those of cup surely Leogang (Austria) . But by far the best path is always Schladming (Austria).
What about the fact that Red Bull has acquired the video rights for the next World Cup? You think it's good for the future of the series?
Personally I think it's great for the future of downhill. Red Bull is a very wealthy and respected and could push up the sport definitely making him known to many people.
You usually do trailbuilding? What do you like in particular to build?
One, I like to build new paths but especially dh dirt pitches by.

What features are essential to being a successful rider?
First, the right mindset to approach races, but also the handle is not to be underestimated as well as the training. But I think the mentality to play a key role.
Let's talk about your bike, what do you believe that Phoenix is different from other dh bike?
I am happy to be racing for the team Pivot UK and I really like the Phoenix DH. I like the feeling that by cornering, I think is very important to this aspect. The Phoenix is perfect when they become tortuous trail and guided.
How to carry out training in California? Have you discovered any interesting location?
Yes workouts progressing well. Here there are many paths downhill, but also in Sicily you do not joke about downhill trails.

Ok Bernard, we ended. Just one last question, Who is the rider of a cup that you admire most and why?
Surely Elliot Jackson! He is young, just racing bike is really strong and, and especially because it allows me to feel at home here in California. Ahahah! Seriously, I thank him for the hospitality. Of course I thank my sponsors Pivot Cycles, Bluegrass, Elate, Adidas and of course my family for all the help it gives me constantly. A special thank you to TriRide.
