Ground-breaking for new GHOST GmbH building in Waldsassen

‘Further growth, shorter supply chains, faster shipping, less cycle time, digital warehouse management with more efficient storage and retrieval processes, great energy balance through a pellet heating system, modern design, showroom, flexible jobs with plenty of opportunities for team building including sitting and standing workstations’ – These are only a few of the distinctive goals and advantages which will come true in our planned new building in Waldsassen. The GHOST GmbH management informed numerous honored guests representing politics and business about the planned details at the ground-breaking ceremony, which took place at the An der Tongrube location. Our rapid and successful expansion during the last few years resulted in the need to expand our building which, although only 4 years old, cannot meet the challenges of the future anymore. To be constructed directly next to our existing, 60mx90m building, a new 60m x 60m building on three levels will be built. Two tunnels will connect the two buildings. The new building will enable an expansion of the wheelset manufacturing from two to three lines on the first floor. The second floor will house spoke lacing, stem assembly and pre-assembly of several components. Certain areas on the first and second floor as well as the entire third floor will serve as a warehouse with a capacity of 25,000 complete bicycles ready to be delivered.

The move and production start is planned for the end of 2012. The showroom and a history area will be created in early 2013 and the service area will be expanded at the same time. The last construction phase will create a modern, contemporary office world. We are already looking forward to celebrating our company’s 20th anniversary in mid-2013 in the newly finished GHOST headquarters.
