Leogang, Austria, March 19th, 2012 – About two more months of patience until the 2012 season kicks off in Leogang. For the Bikepark Leogang, a very special season is to come: The UCI Mountain Bike and Trials World Championships from August 29th to September 9th in Saalfelden Leogang casts its shadow ahead to the Salzburger Land.

The absolute highlight of the season is without a doubt the most important and notable event of the whole mountain bike universe: The UCI Mountain Bike and Trials World Championships in Saalfelden Leogang from August 29th to September 9th. An entire region is eagerly awaiting this event. Two weeks of concentrated mountain bike action on a world-class level will lure thousands of people to see their stars in action in Saalfelden Leogang. Over 800 active athletes are supposed to start in the various competitions. The world champion title is up for grabs in the disciplines of downhill, four cross, cross country, trials and for the first time cross country eliminator. This is an absolute mandatory date for every fan of mountain biking!

The main rehearsal for this major event will take place at the end of May during the Out of Bounds Festival. From May 24th to May 27th, the Bikepark Leogang invites everyone to the legendary festival, where visitors get to see the downhill world elite as well as the international four cross and dirt jump pros: The iXS European Downhill Cup is making a tour stop in Leogang as well as the Euro Four Cross Series (EFS). Anybody who prefers huge jumps and fat tricks should not miss the 26TRIX fueled by Monster Energy. The event programme includes the obligatory Bunny Hop Contest and, of course, the notorious Override Afterparty fueled by Monster Energy. The Out of Bounds Festival is already the second mandatory excursion to Leogang in 2012.

The season’s prelude in Leogang, however, will be held from May 17th to 20th with the traditional opening weekend. Since it is the middle of May, when the time comes to get back on your bike, the Bikepark Leogang is the right spot to get fit for the season. During the opening weekend there is a discount of 30% on all lift passes, plus a home-style bbq on the panorama terrace of the B3 bar. The ideal easy going and athletic season introduction for riders of all skill levels!

From the middle to the bottom station most trails will already be open for a ride. Be it the Flying Gangster (Freeride), Bongo Bongo Trail (Freeride), Hangman (Singletrail) or the Speedster (Downhill) – the Bikepark Leogang offers fun, action and challenge for bike rookies and absolute pros. The perfectly tended and continuously improved trails demonstrate beyond doubt that quality is a valuable good in Leogang. It will definitely be worth finding out what is new in the bike park!

One thing can already be told: The Jochen Schweizer Bagjump is the perfect training tool for all riders, to check out new tricks or simply to style through the air without the risk of injuries. The huge air cushion directly at the bottom station allows even more daring stunts because of its size and improved cushioning compared to a conventional foampit. Accessible only in dry weather conditions.

Frequent riders should think about the option of a GraVity Card. This unique union of eleven leading European bikeparks helps saving a lot of money throughout the season and guarantees tons of fun and riding diversity.
